Reece James has declared his intention to remain at Chelsea amid interest from Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Earlier, Nigel James, Reece James father had stated his son's intentions to be Chelsea's Captain:

"The part where I will be emotional is the day he becomes Chelsea captain.

“That’s his ambition and mine as well. Reece has been at Chelsea since he was six. There hasn’t been a player who has been there that young and worn the armband.

“The goal is to be the man that, when you hear Chelsea, you think Reece James.” Nigel James told The Byline .

This statement from Nigel James is a huge statement of intent and suggests Reece could stay at the club and become the next big star rather than leave.

However, Reece James' recent statement have not only affirmed his father's thoughts, but has committed his long term future to Chelsea, which in turn has left Chelsea fans with every reason to stay calm over worries for his future.

Asked if he was likely to remain at Chelsea, he told the BBC:  ‘I’d like to think so.

‘I grew up as a Chelsea fan and I made my name playing for Chelsea the club I’ve always supported. I don’t see why that would change I play for Chelsea now and I’m enjoying it.’

There have been talks over a new contract for Reece James as well, with the Club ready to secure his long term future.
